Ken Pecus is one of San Diego’s most accomplished, storied, and genuinely distinctive real estate professionals. A native of Coronado — having grown up on what he calls ‘the island paradise’ — Ken obtained his real estate license in 1989 and never looked back. Over the past 35+ years he has built a career that spans small independent firms, large national organizations, and the founding of one of the most significant brokerages in San Diego’s history.

In the early 2000s, Ken founded Ascent Real Estate, which grew to become the largest non-affiliated independent real estate company in San Diego County, with ten offices spread across the region. The company’s growth and ultimate merger with a national firm stands as a testament to Ken’s vision, leadership, and deep understanding of the San Diego market. Fourteen years after founding Ascent, Ken set out to rebuild his brand under the eXp Realty platform — a forward-thinking decision that continues to pay dividends for his clients and team agents.

Ken graduated from Coronado High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University. That analytical foundation shapes his approach to every transaction — he thinks systematically, finds creative deal structures, and delivers financial clarity that clients in complex situations genuinely need.

On a personal level, Ken is an avid tennis player, a passionate international traveler, and a man who has spent nearly three decades alongside his husband Tom. His family has deep roots across Coronado and San Diego. His business philosophy is built on referrals, relationships, and doing business the right way — every single time.
